Contractors who have used the Gutster Demo-Bar agree that it is a great time saver. It is also a great MONEY saver. Users find that it pays for itself the very first job! By reducing man hours, we help you increase your bottom line. In the past, we’ve found that on some jobs, especially the heavy duty demo work, it pays for itself the first hour. At the current low retail price, there really is no better demolition tool on the market.

Saving Even More!

You already know that the Gutster Demo-Bar can save you time, energy and money, but did you know it can save even more? The Gutster Demo-Bar is a great way to save materials. Reclaimed lumber really saves. Our bars make it easy to gently pry off materials to reuse. Recycling materials is easier on your pocket, and of course on the environment by reducing waste and reducing the need for new lumber to be cut. Reclaiming lumber is not just about being “green”.  It’s also a great way to save a little bit of history when working on historic properties. There are many ways to use reclaimed lumber. Have you used your Gutster to salvage material and then reuse it in a creative way? Send us a jpeg of your work to info@thegutster.com and maybe we can include it on our website.

Gutster on the Roof

We’ve been following a discussion on the Journal of Light Construction website about using The Gutster for removing roof shingles. While the Gutster can handle almost anything you can throw at it, sometimes there are other tools that are a better choice for the job at hand.

When you’re looking at removing just shingles from a roof, tools like The Shingle Eater are great! They’re probably a better choice for that job than pulling out your Gutster. But when you get into the job, and find the water damage is much more extensive than you thought, or there are 3 roofs stacked on top of each other, it’s time to grab your Gutster, and really get going on taking the roof off.

When the underlying plywood, tongue and groove board, or structural lumber needs to be removed, save your Shingle Eater for the next job. The Gutster saves you time, saves your shovel and saves your back.

HOW TO MEASURE A GUTSTER BAR

Now that we have three sizes of Gutsters, there has been a little confusion as to what the actual lengths are of the bars. I hope I can clear it up just a little. When listing the size of our bar, we refer to the length of the straight piece, between the head and handle bends.

Our General Purpose Bar we refer to as 24″. The actual length of this bar from the tip of the chiseled point to the end of the handle is 40″

Our Contractor’s Bar we refer to as 32″ but it is still the same 48″ from tip to tip that our previous Series 1 and Series 2 were.

Our Flooring Bar we refer to as 40″ but the bar is 56″ from tip to tip.

I hope this clears things up for you, we apologize for any confusion!

The next month will see some big ( and small) changes at The Gutster! We have added two new bars to our inventory.

Beginning September 20, the Gutster Flooring Bar will be available. This bar is 8″ longer than our original bars. Its perfect for hardwood flooring ad decking. The new longer handle eliminates bending. With the same specially designed head as our original you will easily tear up boards.

Beginning October 15, The Gutster General Purpose Bar will become available. This scaled down version of our original is great for DIY weekend warriors and for smaller jobs on professional sites. Not only is the handle 8″ shorter than our original, but the head is scaled down tofit into tighter places.

We have opened the web-store up for preorders now! For a limited time, save $25 plus get FREE SHIPPING when you purchase all three of our great Gutster Demo-Bars!
